GHDZ Cruz Law Offices’ very own Atty. Richelle Ann Zamora, in her role as one of the reactors of the recently concluded event of De La Salle Lipa- Lasallian Jurists organization, “Abante, Babae: Filipino Women as Pillars of Society”, together with Dr. Alicia Botardo, also one of the reactors and former senator, Atty. Leila de Lima as the guest speaker.
At the event, Atty. Zamora shared her experience balancing motherhood while pursuing law, highlighting women’s remarkable ability to manage multiple roles with grace and strength, making them pillars of society. She also drew parallels between the crimes of rape and corruption of justice, emphasizing the infringement of autonomy, manipulation, fear, and lasting trauma inflicted on victims in both scenarios. Injustice, she noted, also leads to rights violations, manipulation of justice for personal gain, suppression of dissenting voices, and societal trauma characterized by institutional mistrust and ongoing oppression.
She ended her address by emphasizing the need for accountability, transparency, and reform to protect the integrity of our legal systems and the human dignity of all, agreeing with Atty. De Lima’s statement that social justice is hard work with much to be done and that it must be fought for.
